Cadence Demo (OrCAD)
From CVL Wiki
Cadence's OrCAD Demo package is a SPICE tool for circuit simulation used in a number of classes. This package has a component limit (20) and a node limit (64). If you need to design a circuit with more components in it, you will need the licensed version of OrCAD.
Installing OrCAD Demo
Click here. Login with your Virginia Tech PID/password. Save the file to your desktop. This will take a few minutes to a long time depending upon the speed of your network connection. If you don't have a fast network connection at your home/apartment, it would probably be faster to go to campus and use the campus network.
Once you have downloaded this ZIP file, right click the file, select "Extract All...". Extract all of the files to your Desktop.
You may now delete the ZIP file.
Now, start the install by double clicking the file "setup.exe". This file is found in the directory that was created from the ZIP file. On the intial screen of the install, select "Product/Demo Installation". During the install, it will ask you something about a "CONTROLFILE.TXT", just click next. (Dr. Meehan: is this correct? -->) When it asks you something about "layout footprints", pick "OrCAD Layout footprint viewer". When it asks you about a "License Path", just click "next".
After the install you can delete the install folder.
There is a "readme" file that you should take a look at here.
