  • Contact support@ece.vt.edu and request that your PID be added to the AnSYS license group.
  • Create a user account with the same account name as your PID.
  • Create the license environment variable
  1. Control Panel -> System -> Advanced System Settings
  2. At the bottom of the Advanced tab, click on Environment Variables...
  3. Click New.. under the User variables box
  4. Variable Name: ANSYSLMD_LICENSE_FILE
  5. Variable Value: 27002@ansys.software.vt.edu
  6. Install the program with default options
