Whittemore 454 - Ricoh Aficio MP 7500 (B&W)
Windows Installation
Download PCL6 Driver for Universal Print for your OS (please use x64 drivers unless you have a x32 OS):
Open the installer when finished downloading, and extract to a known folder.
- Control Panel -> Devices and Printer -> Add a Printer
- Choose Network Printer option
- Select The printer that I want isn't listed
- Select Add a printer using a TCP/IP address or hostname and enter 128.173.88.178 for the Hostname
- When prompted for a driver, choose Have Disk... and navigate to the previous folder you extracted the drivers to
- Select the RICOH PCL6 UniversalDriver driver
- Choose Do not share this printer
- Once the printer is installed, right click on the printer icon and select Printing Preferences
- Open the Detailed Settings tab and click on Job Setup
- Enter your User Code and click OK
OS X Installation
Download and install the following packages from this link: http://www.linuxfoundation.org/collaborate/workgroups/openprinting/macosxpxlmono
Foomatic-RIP, pxlmono, Ghostscript
- Open Terminal and unzip the Ricoh printer file:
gunzip /Library/Printers/PPDs/Contents/Resources/en.lproj/Ricoh-Aficio_MP_7500-pxlmono-Ricoh.ppd.gz
- Open the Ricoh printer file in TextEdit
open -a TextEdit /Library/Printers/PPDs/Contents/Resources/en.lproj/Ricoh-Aficio_MP_7500-pxlmono-Ricoh.ppd
- Search for "1003" and replace all with your Ricoh Printer UserCode. (see pic editRicohUserCode.png)
- Save the file and rezip.
gzip /Library/Printers/PPDs/Contents/Resources/en.lproj/Ricoh-Aficio_MP_7500-pxlmono-Ricoh.ppd
- Open System Preferences -> Print & Scan
- Add a new Printer (+ symbol on left side)
- Select the IP tab and enter the following settings
Address: 128.173.88.178 Protocol: Line Printer Daemon - LPD Name: Ricoh Main Office Use: RICOH Aficio MP 7500 PXL
- Click Add
- Select the Finisher option: Finisher SR4000
- The Printer is now installed. Next we need to save the UserCode as a default option
- Open a test print document (File -> Print)
- In the Printer dropdown menu, select Ricoh Main Office
- In the last dropdown menu (surrounded by a horizontal bar) select Printer Features
- In the Feature Sets dropdown menu, select Job Log
- In the User Code dropdown menu, select your UserCode
- In the Presets dropdown menu, select Save Current Settings as Preset and give it a name.
- Print!!

- Start -> Devices and Printer -> Add a Printer
- Choose Network Printer option

- Choose "Add a printer using a TCP/IP address or hostname" and enter 128.173.88.185
- When prompted for a driver, choose Have Disk... and navigate to the previous folder you extracted the drivers to
- Select the RICOH Aficio MP C2800 PCL 6 driver
- Choose Do not share this printer
- Once the printer is installed, right click on the printer icon and select Printing Preferences
- Open the Valid Access tab and enter your User Code
OS X

- When prompted for a driver, choose Have Disk... and navigate to the previous folder you extracted the drivers to
- Select the Gestetner MP 4002 PCL 6 driver
- Choose Do not share this printer
- Once the printer is installed, right click on the printer icon and select Printing Preferences
- Open the Detailed Settings tab, select Job Setup under the Menu area, and enter your User Code
