He is a recipient of 2018 NJIT Hashimoto Fellowship, National Encouragement Scholarship of China. He is also a program committee member of Cloud Computing 2018 and //IEEE Wireless Africa// 2019.  He has served as a reviewer for over 60 journal submissions such as //IEEE Transactions on Cloud Computing//, //IEEE Journal on Selected Areas in Communications//, //IEEE Transactions on Communications//. His research interests include mobile edge computing, machine learning, wireless communications and networking, drone-assisted networking.

His research interests are in the broad area of wireless communications, neural networks, machine learning/deep learning and beyond-5G networks. Shashank was a research intern in Intel Labs for the summer of 2021 working on machine learning for wireless networks.
