[edit] Windows Installation

Download PCL6 Driver for Universal Print for your OS (please use x64 drivers unless you have a x32 OS):

Open the installer when finished downloading, and extract to a known folder.

  1. Control Panel -> Devices and Printer -> Add a Printer
  2. Choose Network Printer option
  3. Select The printer that I want isn't listed
  4. Select Add a printer using a TCP/IP address or hostname and enter 128.173.88.178 for the Hostname
  5. When prompted for a driver, choose Have Disk... and navigate to the previous folder you extracted the drivers to
  6. Select the RICOH PCL6 UniversalDriver driver
  7. Choose Do not share this printer
  8. Once the printer is installed, right click on the printer icon and select Printing Preferences
  9. Open the Detailed Settings tab and click on Job Setup
  10. Enter your User Code and click OK

If you already have the Ricoh 7500 printer installed, you can updated the driver instead.

  1. Download the Universal driver (link above) and extract the zip package to a known folder
  2. Open the Control Panel and go to Devices and Printers
  3. Right click on the Ricoh 7500 printer and select Printer Properties
  4. Open the Advanced tab and click New Driver...
  5. Follow steps 5-10 above.

Foomatic-RIP, pxlmono, Ghostscript

  1. Open Terminal and unzip the Ricoh printer file: 
   gunzip /Library/Printers/PPDs/Contents/Resources/en.lproj/Ricoh-Aficio_MP_7500-pxlmono-Ricoh.ppd.gz
  1. Open the Ricoh printer file in TextEdit 
   open -a TextEdit /Library/Printers/PPDs/Contents/Resources/en.lproj/Ricoh-Aficio_MP_7500-pxlmono-Ricoh.ppd
  1. Search for "1003" and replace all with your Ricoh Printer UserCode. (see pic editRicohUserCode.png)
  2. Save the file and rezip. 
   gzip /Library/Printers/PPDs/Contents/Resources/en.lproj/Ricoh-Aficio_MP_7500-pxlmono-Ricoh.ppd
  1. Open System Preferences -> Print & Scan
  2. Add a new Printer (+ symbol on left side)
  3. Select the IP tab and enter the following settings 
   Address: 128.173.88.178
   Protocol: Line Printer Daemon - LPD
   Name: Ricoh Main Office
   Use: RICOH Aficio MP 7500 PXL
  1. Click Add
  2. Select the Finisher option: Finisher SR4000
